Connect with the World
Lesson Plan
Objective:
Develop a meaningful cross cultural platform between a class in the USA and a class in another country.
Sharing Ideas:
*Use Skype to introduce students to each other (time zones must be similar)
* Have groups of students make a power point presentation about an aspect of their own culture:
For example, students in Islamic nations could create a PowerPoint presentation: What Islam means to me"
American students could create a PowerPoint presentation on what their religion means to them. Then trade the power point presentations with the other class. Ask questions/provide feedback.
* Establish E Pals between each American and each foreign student. Students may share their cultural identities with each other. and develop friendships. Connect on Facebook.
*Use long distance lab and web camera to connect classrooms for a dynamic collaborative project and discussion
* Create sharing platform (class website) where students may share images of their family, culture, sports, activities, house, school, community, with students around the world.
* Create a platform to share ideas on contemporary issues and perspectives on Current Events. Make your classroom discussions into global discussions.
* Create a meaningful cross country collaborative project using Google documents, skype and distance learning labs.
